iCONECT’s newest release leverages the power and benefits of Content Analyst’s Conceptual Search and Dynamic Clustering
RESTON, VA and Los Angeles, CA – April 22, 2009 – iCONECT® Development, LLC and Content Analyst Company announced the general availability of version 740.1 of iCONECT’s award-winning review and collaboration platforms, iCONECTnXT and iCONECTeXT, which support Concept Searching and Dynamic Clustering utilizing Content Analyst Company’s market-leading CAAT engine. Firms can now use Content Analyst’s CAAT engine with iCONECT software to further streamline review workflow.
Concept Searching technology is one of the few technologies that allows organizations to effectively cope with the growing mountains of data involved in today's litigations. Content Analyst Company's CAAT engine has been tightly integrated into nXT and eXT, allowing legal teams to leverage any combination of keyword and concept search techniques to reduce the time and cost of document review. "iCONECT's integration of CAAT in the nXT and eXT platforms has been thoughtfully engineered," said Kurt Michel, President and CEO of Content Analyst Company. "iCONECT has incorporated Conceptual Searching at the User Interface level, making it easy for nXT and eXT users to reap the benefits of both Conceptual Search and Dynamic Clustering without a significant learning curve."
Conceptual Searching goes beyond keyword technologies to locate all documents that describe the same subject matter or concepts whether or not specific words or terms are present. In fact, similar documents can be readily located simply by pasting relevant paragraphs – or even an entire document – into a familiar search box. CAAT's search algorithms use advanced mathematics, and overcome issues like misspellings and synonyms – something other engines can't do. Identifying privilege subject matters is just as easily handled, meeting the guidelines behind FRE-502 intended to prevent inadvertent waiver.
"This integration reflects our commitment to stay on the cutting edge of technology and give our clients every possible advantage including the ability to use iCONECT software in tandem with other leading products for a total end-to-end solution," said Ian Campbell, Chief Operating Officer of iCONECT Development, LLC.
In addition to integrated Conceptual Searching, nXT and eXT also support an import/export feature with CAAT's Dynamic Clustering. This allows collections of documents to be clustered by CAAT into concept-based folders and then re-imported into the nXT or eXT folder hierarchy. Concept-based foldering enables reviewers to focus directly on key documents and issues, saving time and improving accuracy.
Firms can license nXT or eXT as an in-house solution or use one of iCONECT's worldwide network of over 50 application service providers (ASPs) to host their legal projects. ASPs offer hosting with iCONECT software as a key component of their overall e-discovery offering to law firms, government agencies and corporations.
For in-house installations, firms can choose the best fit for their infrastructure requirements: nXT as a self-contained product with embedded database technology; nXT connected to Microsoft SQL Server (NASDAQ:MSFT); or eXT which connects to an Oracle server (NASDAQ:ORCL).
