Datacap Breaks the Document Separation Barrier
Teaming with Content Analyst Company, LLC to Deliver Advanced Document Classification and Search Capabilities

(Tarrytown, NY ) August 4, 2006 – Datacap announced today a partnership with Content Analyst Company, LLC to offer advanced document classification and search capabilities. By combining Datacap’s expertise in document capture and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) with Content Analyst’s advanced search and classification, the companies will help users break the barriers between their paper documents and their ECM systems.

The companies previewed the integration at the recent AIIM Conference and Expo in Philadelphia. Hosted in the newly released Datacap Taskmaster Web Service, attendees saw a batch of scanned resumes automatically separated into individual documents and then classified by job category – without the use of separators or operator intervention. Taskmaster Web Service won AIIM’s “Best of Show” Award in the forms processing category.

"Organizations know that unstructured content is valuable and are developing enterprise content management architectures and strategies. Since the value of unstructured content is lost if that content is not organized and searchable, information extraction and content analytics technologies will gain increasing importance in Enterprise Content Management suites as organizations look to put content in context,” said Karen Shegda, Research Director for document and content management at Gartner, Inc.

Content Analyst’s technologies are based on advanced search capabilities similar, but superior to those used by Google® and other Internet search engines. When hosted in Taskmaster Web Service, they can be used both to match specific document types and to build a user’s search repository for context sensitive searches. Datacap and Content Analyst Company will offer these capabilities to both end users and industry partners to enhance their ECM solutions.

“Users want less overhead in their ECM systems,” said Scott Blau, Datacap CEO. “They want a digital onramp for paper documents with the minimum of manual intervention – and they want to find their documents online as easily as they can find a Web site via Google. By teaming with Content Analyst Company, we are able to deliver document classification and search capabilities to organizations that have previously been exclusively available in government intelligence work. By hosting these in our Taskmaster Web Service, we are making it as easy as possible to deliver a complete solution.”

"We are particularly pleased to be working with a document capture industry leader like Datacap," says Bob Liscouski, President and CEO of Content Analyst Company, LLC. "Because our advanced text analytics technology provides a superior document categorization capability, our partnership with Datacap will result in new levels of automation, accuracy, with minimal set-up and administration for end-users and channel partners."

Availability
Initial release is slated for Summer 2006 in Datacap’s new Taskmaster Web Service.
