Job Description:

Content Analyst Company, the leading provider of advanced text analytics software which uncovers unknown relationships in Big Data, is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team and help build the best text analytics SDK available.

This role will have a significant influence in developing best practices for testing, including developing test requirements and test cases. This requires a team player who can work with a technical product alongside Engineers, and have fun doing it. It will require working within a cross-functional team, and collaborating with members in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and write test requirements and test cases for major product features
  • Work with Engineers to specify automated test cases and help develop test data sets.
  • Work with big data: customers routinely process tens of millions of documents through our APIs.
  • Use the best tools available: laptops, multiple monitors, your favorite IDE, Git, and a great test automation system.
  • Avoid meetings and distractions: our daily 15 minute standup is all we need.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in an Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years Quality Assurance experience for a software product.
  • Self-starting, detail oriented, and possess good communication skills.
  • Requires experience with REST APIs and JSON.
  • Requires 2+ years experience with Big Data systems, such as Hadoop, or 2+ years of Text Analytics experience.
  • Experience with Git and Jenkins are a plus. We use them all.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodology is a plus. It's how we do our work.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Mission:

The Solutions Architect will partner with Content Analyst's sales representatives to drive new sales of CAAT. Daily activities will include focused demonstrations, prospect qualification, software prototyping, and managing evaluations in a tight and focused way. He or she will continue to shepherd new partners through the integration process through effective consulting and training. It is critical that the Solution Architect can work effectively with other team members as needed to build long-lasting relationships with Content Analyst's partners.

We in the Product Solutions Group (PSG) pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our partners, from evaluation through implementation and production. These relationships are founded on high-quality technical support, expert consultation, respect, trust, and professionalism. Our team of motivated Solutions Architects shares a passion for our transformative analytics product, CAAT. As Content Analyst Company grows, we need to expand our team to both broaden our expertise and better support a growing network of partners and interested prospects.

The Solutions Architect position involves both pre-sales and post-sales activities, providing technical expertise, thoughtful consultation, and trusted partnership. This requires both narrow focus on implementation details and broader understanding of wider workflows. It's a challenging balance which is critical to the success of the company.

The ideal candidate will excel at the following:

Communication skill in a technical environment:

  • Translate complex technical information into clear benefits to different audiences
  • Conduct a compelling product demo of CAAT to a variety of audiences.
  • Manage software evaluations with prospects
  • Conduct "kickoff" sessions with customers who are embarking on integrations
  • Deliver standard partner trainings to product managers, consultants, and software engineers

Technical capabilities:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot software issues with creativity
  • Write small software applications which communicate with the CAAT API to demonstrate specific capabilities
  • Satisfy the most technical customer by answering very challenging questions about CAAT software. When questions cannot be answered sufficiently or appropriately, work with other company resources to get answers.
  • Learn the RESTful and SOAP-based APIs of CAAT, and be able to advise on the pros and cons of any API call with only a quick reference of the documentation.
  • Leverage this API knowledge to conduct code reviews with our partners' software engineers, rooting out problems before they occur, and advising when the logic has gone awry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics; non-technical Bachelor's Degree with equivalent technical experience also acceptable.
  • 5 years of demonstrated success in a software pre-sales or professional services/implementation role. Some experience in both roles is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Enterprise Storage/Archiving market highly preferred
  • Comfort in a software programming environment with ability to troubleshoot software problems and prototype simple applications
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Familiarity with software application development and system architecture design
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Job Description:

We in the Product Solutions Group (PSG) pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our partners, from evaluation through implementation and production. Our small group of motivated engineers have a passion for our transformative technology. As our business grows, we are hiring a full-time, entry-level support engineer to help with day-to-day tasks as well as troubleshoot challenging software problems.

From our headquarters in Reston, Virginia, you will work closely with capable software engineers internally and externally. You will be the primary point of contact for our partners when they report issues or request assistance through our online ticketing system. Our product, CAAT, is a software toolkit, and these partners are themselves software engineers. We are seeking candidates trained in software engineering with a knack for problem-solving. The tickets that we receive are not help-desk questions with simple answers that you can find in the back of the book. Each integration of our product is completely unique, and will present its own set of challenges. Solving tickets requires thought, reason, and often, some research and prototyping. If this type of situation appeals to you, we would love to speak to you and hear about the skills that you can bring to our small but expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary layer of support for incoming tickets
  • Simultaneously manage multiple tickets through the online ticketing system
  • Help serve as "on-call" support after hours
  • Create, suspend, delete, manage support users and accounts
  • Create software licenses, manage certification testing
  • Initiate and conduct technical support calls via phone and web help sessions for in-depth troubleshooting
  • Remotely troubleshoot software by analyzing log files, monitoring system resources, and configuring software parameters
  • Collaborate with other team members and engineers to determine root cause and resolve tickets
  • Contribute to knowledge base by writing articles and/or recording videos to build "self-help" resources for our partners
  • Work with QA team to improve product testing and characterization based on user experiences and tickets
  • Assist in system test for new releases

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related technical discipline with software course work
  • Recent college graduates will be considered
  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Meticulousness and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability to work independently to solve challenging problems
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows
  • Must work from Reston, Virginia office

Desired skills:

  • Linux knowledge highly attractive
